Deepa Rao-Feit, PTA

  • Deepa is a Physical Therapy Assistant with Sprout Pediatrics, LLC. She serves clients in the Irmo/Chapin area of Columbia. Deepa grew up in the Irmo area and graduated from Irmo High School! She went on to graduate from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.  She worked at The Augusta Chronicle in Augusta, Ga., as a copy editor, page designer and local restaurant reviewer before moving back to Columbia for an editing job at and The State newspaper. After working in newspapers for several years, she decided to change careers and enrolled at Midlands Technical College. In December 2016, Deepa graduated with an associate’s degree in Physical Therapy program.

Deepa enjoys being a pediatric therapist, because she loves helping children and families in the community where she grew up.  She says it is an honor and privilege to get to know these families and celebrate each step of the way toward progress. Deepa says the rewards to her job are seeing the children smile, laugh and have fun. To see how proud they are of themselves is a wonderful feeling as a therapist.

Deepa says, “Sprout Pediatrics embraces the ‘it-takes-a-village’ mentality when it comes to working with children. At Sprout, we involve our  families and join our colleagues in working toward the best quality of life for each of our clients. We are a family helping other families in this community. I feel very fortunate to be a part of that mission.”

The result of a whirlwind newspaper office romance, Deepa and her husband, Noah, have been married for five years. He works as a Real Time news reporter for The State newspaper. They enjoy traveling, going to rock concerts, hanging out with friends and family, crushing the competition at trivia, singing karaoke and watching Georgia football. Go Dawgs!!! Deepa also enjoys arts and crafts, reading and being outside.
